STUFFING WITH AN APPLE CINNAMON TWIST
For three thousand years Cinnamon has been praised for its beneficial effects in healing, stimulating circulation and assisting digestion. This special stuffing is sure to delight all of the senses!
4 cups stale bread, cubed
1/3 medium onion, chopped fine
½ stick butter (may substitute 3 Tbs. olive oil)
4-5 bags EAT YOUR HEART OUT! Apple Cinnamon Wedges
¾ tsp. cinnamon
¼ Cup apple juice
Salt and pepper to taste
Break Apple Cinnamon Wedges into thirds and set aside. In a medium-size skillet melt butter (or heat oil). Add onions and cook over medium heat until caramelized (golden brown). Add bread cubes and Apple Cinnamon Wedges, mix thoroughly and remove from heat. Add cinnamon, then salt and pepper to taste. If mixture is too dry, add enough apple juice to hold together without becoming too soft or mushy. Stuff chicken or turkey roaster and bake at 350 degrees according to directions for poultry. Serve and enjoy!
