BAKED BRIE & APPLE WEDGES
This unique and nutritious hors d'oeuvre is guaranteed to be the hit of your party!
1 wheel of brie cheese (7" or wider)
6-10 bags EAT YOUR HEART OUT! Apple Cinnamon Wedges (depending on diameter of brie)
½ Cup slivered almonds (optional)
With a sharp knife, cut a circle around the top of the brie wheel, indenting approximately ½ inch from the edge. Remove rind from the inner circle that you have just made. (An easy method for this is to make shallow vertical cuts 2" apart, followed by horizontal cuts, also 2" apart. This will leave smaller 2" squares of rind that can be easily removed from the top of the cheese wheel. Remove rind only and discard). Sprinkle inner circle of exposed cheese with almond slivers. Place wheel on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes (until hot and bubbly). Remove to a large round serving dish and surround with Apple Cinnamon Wedges for dipping. Serve immediately.
