To Whom It May Concern:
My colleagues and I at the JUVA Skin & Laser Center have had the opportunity to try the freeze-dried "Eat Your Heart Out" products and found them quite delicious but even more importantly nutritionally valuable meeting the requirements recommended by physicians and nutritional experts. "Eat Your Heart Out" products are a welcome addition to the group of snack food products that for the most part do not have any nutritional value.
Sincerely,
Bruce E. Katz, M.D. Clinical Professor Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons

To Amy Sinaiko:
Thank you for sending samples of your new snack products for my review. The apple cinnamon wedges and peach wedges with mango were delicious and provide a healthful snack alternative. Utilization of your freeze-dried process to preserve the fruit maintains the nutritive value (vitamin C and dietary fiber) which offering low fat snack choices for consumers.
Good luck with your business venture.
Sincerely,
Carolyn Moore, Ph.D., R.D. Manager Clinical Nutrition Services

Snack foods as a group have been widely criticized for the usual content of saturated fat, calories, and sodium, all of which are cardiac unhealthy. The freeze dried Eat Your Heart Out! Products are not only tasty, but meet most of the nutritional requirements recommended by physicians and nutritionists. They can be enjoyed with assurance of medical compliance.

Dear Amy:
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I recently discovered your healthy and delicious "Eat Your Heart Out!" Gourmet snack foods. Oh my goodness, I love 'em! Being a recent Gastric Bypass patient I look for "treats" that are fat and cholesterol free but taste good at the same time. I will be sharing a few bags of Peach/Mango with my support group this evening. I'm sure they will love them too. If you have a catalog/list of your products would you please be so kind as to send me a copy. I am also pleased to know that you donate a percentage of your profits to land conservation and educational programs - that makes me smile. Thank you - please continue to make your delicious products. Sincerely
L Rosamonda

To Amy Sinaiko:
Yes! I got the samples. They were delightful! I love your products so much, but my local Whole Foods said they don't carry them. I can't afford to buy a whole case of any one of your products, but a few people I shared them with said that if I bought some we could split a case or two. So, I may be placing an order with you in the future, unless I can get my local Whole Foods to start carrying your treats.
Thank you so much for the samples. They are just fabulous. If I can start a campaign for my local Whole Foods to carry your products, then I will let everyone at my Weight Watchers meeting know about you. They will flip over such good treats that are good for you, and such few Weight Watchers points!
Thanks for making such great food! And thank you so much for the samples!

We received the care package from "Eat Your Heart Out!" and we were tasting the product before the mail person left the building. I want to congratulate you on your business venture. To have the idea is one thing, then to follow through with it demonstrates a character trait not many people posess. Your willingness to take risks, remove obstacles and honor your commitment to a healthy food product are admirable traits. Dane County Parks and the Heritage center wish you the best of luck and we look forward to seeing you when you are back in Madison.
I am sure your family is proud of what you have done, we all wish you tremendous success in this new endeavor.

To Amy Sinaiko:
Thanks again for the samples. Shared the Soybean Snacks with a colleague and my daughter-in-law. All of us loved them. Sort of seemed like pistachios (or maybe that was because of the color). Of course, I had already given you our verdict on the other samples.
Where can we buy your products?
Don't see anything but a win-win venture for you. Best of luck.
Sincerely,

To Amy Sinaiko:
Thanks so much for the product samples you sent me.
I had hoped to meet you at your demo at Kings in Morristown. I was glad to hear your demo went well, though it doesn't surprise me in the least. You have an outstanding product, it just needed to be introduced to the consumer! I think once consumers try it, they're hooked!
Kings opened their latest supermarket just 3 days ago. I will look with interest to see how and where they have displayed your products.
I'm glad to hear the Naval Academy is considering your products. I also took 6 bags of each fruit into them when we picked up our boy in June. The Mid store has a section where they sell packaged foods and the Drydock Restaurant in Dalghren Hall also carries this type item. I left some at both locations. I opened one bag of each at each location and made them sample. They were very enthusiastic.
You are in a very exciting place, and I'm hoping it all falls into place for you. From speaking with you, it sounds as if you have worked very hard to get to this point, and I wish you the best of luck!
With "healthy" regards,
Mary Cannici

New & Trends - page 10
Soy Month Preview
This April, Soyfoods Month will take on an entirely new attitude. The recently approved soy protein label claim brings new clout to soy products and new momentum to the market. Informed consumers will be looking for soy in the form of tofu, soymilk, meat alternatives, cheeses and more. Recent consumer interest in soy is driven by its benefits in preventing heart disease, its treatment of menopausal symptoms and its ability to strengthen bones, much like calcium.
The soy protein claim, inconjunction with the other known properties of soy, is expected to increase sales of soy products exponentially, but even more recent news highlighted possible cancer-fighting properties in soy. Isoflavones, which are slowly becoming part of the consumer lexicon, may be responsible for controlling how quickly cancer cells replicate.
New products such as soy-based edamame snacks being introduced by Eat Your Heart Out are perfect to promote during Soyfoods Month. It's an opportunity for the retailer to introduce a curious consumer to new soy flavors and forms.
"I think people are really just beginning to eat soy products," said Eat Your Heart Out!'s Amy Sinaiko. "News about soy's benefits has gotten out there - consumers have good reasons to buy it."
